Our history of reliability and strength

1920s
On January 11th, 1922, the Ontario Electrical League was established, as the demand for electricity in homes and communities surged.
1940s
Certified electricians were in high demand. So, the Ontario Electrical League opened and operated over 14 wiring schools to answer the call and keep the trade going strong.
1950s
The Ontario Electrical League held its first annual conference, to bring independent electricians contractors together for the first time.
1960s
The decade that the brand truly became the association it is today with the Electric Service League of Ontario and the Electrical Heating Association amalgamating in 1966 to officially become the Ontario Electrical League.
1990s
The Ontario Electrical League moved forward with the critical trade issue of creating a single system of contractor licensing.
2000s
The millennium saw the Ontario Electrical League continue its transition to a more contractor focused organization — a result of deregulation and building on the existing contractor committee.
2010s
The Ontario Electrical League had a solid reputation as the voice of open shop Licensed Electrical Contractors (LECs) electrical contractors across the province.
2020s
We look forward to further evolving and advancing the electrical industry and paving the way for future generations to succeed in the trade.
